John Evans.
According to his son Robert's two marriage certificates, (from 1891 and 1901), John Evans was a stone quarryman.
On the second of these, Robert declared his father to be deceased, thus giving a date for John's death between 1891 and 1901.
John's son, Robert, was born in 1864/5, so John must have married before 1864, (even assuming Robert to be the eldest child), and so he must have been born before 1850.
Therefore, John was born well before 1850 and died between 1891 and 1901.
On the second of these, Robert declared his father to be deceased, thus giving a date for John's death between 1891 and 1901.
John's son, Robert, was born in 1864/5, so John must have married before 1864, (even assuming Robert to be the eldest child), and so he must have been born before 1850.

The reason for her stay in Old Colwyn and her relationship with Mrs Jones is unclear as yet.
Theophilus Jones was a joiner and a partner in 'Jones & Morris', a small building company in Old Colwyn.
His wife, Margaret Ann Evans, was born in Denbigh and her father was Robert Jones, a coachman from Caernarvon.
So, the link between Margaret Alice Evans and Mrs Jones lies here somewhere but we have still to work it out.
