William Cherrington married Elizabeth Miginess at The Parish Church, Dudley, on 21st July 1861.
William, of full age, was a Puddler. His father was Robert Cherrington, also a Puddler.
Elizabeth's father was Edward Miginess (dead), a glass blower.
The witnesses were William Burton and Drucilla Warrington.

Notes:
William Burton and Drucilla Warrington, (born 4th May 1842), both lived in Old Cross Street, Tipton, in 1861. Drucilla was at number 32, with parents John and Hannah, while William Burton (1839 - ), unmarried, was lodging at number 34. He was a puddler.

First children:

Elizabeth's first child, Edward, was born on 21st December 1861 at Willow Street, Burley, Leeds. The birth certificate shows his mother as Elizabeth Cherrington, formerly McGuiness.
Edward remained unmarried and lived with his parents. In 1881 he was a general labourer, in 1891 a labourer in the iron foundry and in 1892 a ship's fireman. In 1892 and again in 1893, he was admitted to the Liverpool Workhouse Infirmary as a mental patient. He died, aged 63, on 26th August 1924 at 9, Milnthorpe Street, Garston, home of Richard and Ethel May Abbott.
Mary Cherrington, (1864 to 1919)
[Born on the 6th March 1864]. [Wife of Richard Edward Abbott, (1858 to 1897)].
Jennet Cherrington, (1870 - 1937).
[Exact birth unknown. Became known as Janet Eakins, (from her stepfather, John Eakins). Married Thomas Abbot (sic) (1666-1931), on 25th December 1892 at St Catherine's, Edge Hill. Died 1937 and was buried at Everton Cemetery on 7th September 1937. Her address was given as 20 China Street. ].

NB. At number 60 Raglan Street was Janet McGuinness, Elizabeth's mother, and her family.

Widowed.

Elizabeth's husband, William, was admitted to Prestwich Lunatic Asylum on 20th December 1872.
He died on 15th July 1873.
The cause of death was "Exhaustion termination General Paralysis."
William was buried on 19th July 1873, at St Mary the Virgin, Prestwich.

Elizabeth after William's death:

On 19th May 1874, Elizabeth had two daughters baptised at St Augustines Roman Catholic Church in Cressington, near Garston.

Anno 18__ die__ mensis__ nata et anno 1874 die 19 mensis Maii baptizat a est Maria Anna Cherrington filia Gulielmi et Elizabeth Cherrington (olim McGuiness) conjugum: a me Jacobo Hegarty CSSR.

also,
Anno 18__ die__ mensis__ nata et anno 1874 die 17 mensis Maii baptizat a est sub conditione Joanna Cherrington filia Gulielmi et Elizabeth Cherrington (olim McGuiness) conjugum: a me Jacobo Hegarty CSSR.

Second marriage.

Elizabeth seems to have remarried, (or at least engaged in partnership), to John Eakin. I still have not been able to find this marriage in the the index, but these are the census references from which the notion arises, and which are fairly conclusive:

1881 census
19 Window Lane, Garston

Link to Window Lane, Garston at nls maps. Link to Window Lane, Garston at nls maps
Google map showing Window Lane, Garston. Google map showing Window Lane, Garston
John Eakin, age 40, General Labourer, born Ireland.
Elizabeth Eakin, age 42, born Manchester.
Edwin "Derrington", (stepson of John, therefore Elizabeth's son), age 21, born Staffs, Dudley.
This, surely, is Edward Cherrington, William and Elizabeth's son?
Mary "Derrington", (stepdaughter of John ), age 19, Dom. Servant, born Staffs, Dudley.
Similarly, I believe this is Mary Cherrington, William and Elizabeth's daughter.
"Jane Derrington", (stepdaughter of John ), age 7, born Garston.
Similarly, I believe this is Jennet Cherrington, William and Elizabeth's daughter.
Rebecca Eakin, age 2, born Garston.
Wm. John Eakin, age 2 months, born Garston.

Between 27th November and 3rd December 1886, Elizabeth's daughter, Janet Cherrington (1870), was admitted to Liverpool Workhouse Infirmary.
Her condition was described as Cardiac.
Her occupation was "servant". Her address was 19 Window Lane, Garston and her "Friend" was John Eakins of the same address.

1891 census.
19 Window Lane, Garston.
RG13 3004.

John "Haken", (Eakin), age 50, Labourer, Iron Foundry, born Ireland.
Elizabeth "Haken", age 50, born Manchester.
Rebecca "Haken", age 13, born Garston.
Edward Cherrington, "son", age 32, Labourer Iron Foundry, born Yorks, Leeds.

In the 1891 census, Elizabeth's daughter, Janet (as Jane Sherrington) was a sick nurse in the household of Elizabeth Wilkinson, widow, at 49, Window Lane.
In 1892, Janet, taking the name of her stepfather, 'Eakins', married Thomas Abbott(s) (1866 - 1931), son of Thomas and Sarah Abbott, at St Catherine's Edge Hill. Thomas was brother to Richard Edward Abbott (1858 - 1897), husband of Elizabeth's daughter, Mary Cherrington (1864 - 1919)

Elizabeth's Death.

Elizabeth Eakin, (née McGuinness, formerly Cherrington), was buried at St Michael's, Garston, on 9th November 1896.
In the register, her age is given as 55 yrs, and she was living at 16 Window Lane, Garston.

1901 census.

By 1901, John Eakin was on his own, age 57, at 16 Window Lane, with daughter Rebecca, (now Twist), and her husband Joseph and their son John, aged 3 months).
[Rebecca and husband were still at the same address in 1911, but son John had died. They had a daughter, Elizabeth, aged 7.]
[Joseph Smith Deam Twist was brother of John Twist, who was married to Sarah Cherrington Abbott (1882 - 1944), daughter of Mary Cherrington (1864 - 1919), who married in 1884 to Richard Edward Abbott (1858 - 1897).]

John Eakin's death.

John Eakin died age 65, at 16 Window Lane, Garston. He was buried on 16th November 1907 at St Michael, Garston.
