Mary Elizabeth Abbott, the eldest daughter of my ancestor Sarah Abbott (née Webb), married Robert Campbell and looked after her mother, Sarah, for some time after she became widowed in 1885.

[born 3rd December 1879, baptised on 29th March 1880 at St Peter, Liverpool. Married to Samuel Armitt on 18th October 1905 at St Bridget, Wavertree. Edith married Samuel Armitt on 18th October 1905 at St Bridget, Wavertree. From 1911 to 1931 they were at 5 Orange Grove, Toxteth. Samuel Armitt died in 1931. Edith Armitt was buried, aged 57, on 4th January 1937 at Allerton Cemetery. Her address at the time was 87 Pinehurst Road, home of her sister Doris G Findlay.]
Elizabeth Alice Campbell (1882 - )
[ Baptised 17th September 1882 at St Catherine, Edge Hill. Married to William Clarke on 27th November 1904 at St Bridget, Wavertree. Elizabeth Alice married William Clarke on 27th November 1904 at St Bridget, Wavertree. They had two children; Edith May Clarke (1905) and Adelina Clarke (1907). The family emigrated to New Zealand aboard the "Westmead" on 21st June 1913]

Baptised on 24th September 1884 at St Catherine, Edge Hill. Parents living at 87 Barnet Street. Father - Warehouseman. Sarah Ellen died on 28th January 1886 and was buried on 31st January.
Robert Henry Campbell (1887 - 1918)
[Born 15th October 1887. Baptised 13th November, St Dunstan, Edge Hill.
Robert Henry Campbell was killed in action on 8th October 1918. He served with the 9th battalion of the Kings Liverpool Regiment and is buried at Anneux British Cemetery, France.]

Albert (Bertie) Campbell (1891 - )
[ Born 27th February 1891. Baptised 13th May 1891 at St Catherine, Edge Hill. Last confirmed documentation, with family, 1901, 32 Webster Road, Edge Hill.]
Doris Gwendoline Campbell (1899 - 1986)
[ Born 20th February 1899. Baptised 15th March 1899 at St Catherine, Edge Hill. Married John Edward Findlay (1898-1984) in 1924. Children: Edith M Findlay (1925), Dorothy Findlay (1930), Jean L Findlay (1936), Barbara S Findlay(1938). Doris Gwendoline Findlay died at 87 Pinehurst Road, Anfield, 30th May 1986]

Robert Campbell and Mary Elizabeth Abbott had three children between 1879 and their church marriage in 1886.

Marriage:

Robert Campbell married Mary Elizabeth Habbotts (sic) at St Catherine's, Edge Hill on 28th April 1886.
Robert was 28 and son of Samuel Campbell, cooper.
Mary Elizabeth was 25 and daughter of Thomas Habbotts (sic), labourer.
Both gave their address as 18 Durden Street
Witnesses were Samuel Skelland and Sarah Habbotts (sic). [Neither Mary nor her witness Sarah, were able to sign their own names, so they marked crosses instead.]

Robert Henry Campbell (1887 - 1918)
Born 15th October 1887. GRO Reference: D Quarter in WEST DERBY Volume 08B Page 557. Mother's maiden name Abbott.
Baptised on 13th November, St Dunstan, Edge Hill. Parents living at 14 Durden Street. Father - Paint Grinder.
